Why can’t I install in a custom folder?

Our plugins are VST3, and according to the standard defined by Steinberg, VST3 plug-ins no longer support custom folders and have to be installed in C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 on Windows. You can read more about it here if you’re interested.

We know that some DAWs support custom folders also for VST3 (for example Ableton Live), but other DAWs, notably Cubase, don’t. So we thought it safest to always install Hand Clap Studio in the standard location. In Live, please make sure that you’ve enabled “Use VST3 Plug-In System Folders” in Preferences.
