About Robotic Bean

At Robotic Bean, we build inspiring tools for music creation, with character, a sense of play and a lot of care for the details.

We started in 2015 making Rack Extensions for Reason, and today our instruments also run as VST3, AU and AAX plugins in any DAW, on Mac and Windows.

Portatron brings the sound and workflow of a vintage 4-track cassette recorder into your music: loops, drones and instruments on tape, with full lofi control, and now recording straight to tape. Its growing library of Portapacks, many made together with SonalSystem, gives you new sounds to play with.

Hand Clap Studio gives you natural sounding claps and snaps, recorded by a professional percussionist at the legendary Atlantis Studio, with full control over clappers, room and timing.

For Reason users, our Rack Extensions range from synthesizers like Resonans to sequencers and utilities like Sequences and the TS-1 Time Slider.

We’re based in Stockholm, Sweden, home of music tech companies like Reason Studios, Teenage Engineering, Nord Keyboards and Klevgränd, and a scene we’re proud to be part of. Robotic Bean is (left to right) Anders Ljung (the boring stuff), Erik Söderberg (graphics) and Niklas Backlund (developer).
