If you’re into ambient textures, modular synths, or just chasing that magical, shifting chordal sound — then you’ll want to meet AetherFlow – Evolving Chords by SonalSystem.
What is AetherFlow?
- AetherFlow is a sample library built around ambient pads and textural drones, recorded from analog and modular synths.
- It’s made to work seamlessly with Portatron, our 4-track cassette plugin.
- The design lets you mix and match sound elements to build evolving chords — in other words: infinite chord possibilities without being tied to a tempo.
- Everything is recorded in a single key (per sound), so when you blend elements, everything harmonizes nicely.
Why it’s cool
- If you love ambient, cinematic, experimental, or even sound-design work, this gives you tools to create shifting, living soundscapes.
- Because the chord elements are modular, you can get unexpected combinations, adding a layer of serendipity to your process.
- It’s inspired by Alessandro Cortini’s techniques — using cassette machines as an instrument to generate evolving harmonies.
